What is a Teaching Artist?

Teaching Artists are professional artists who are dedicated to lifelong learning and arts education, have made it an integral part of their professional practice, and who have cultivated skills as educators in concert with their skills as artists.

- Maine Arts Commission

Abigail is thrilled to be on the Maine Arts Commission Teaching Artist Roster as it perfectly encapsulates her two passions: music and teaching. Past collaborations have included RSU #13, Sweetland School, St. George, Hope Elementary, Lincolnville Central School, and Appleton Village School. Projects have ranged from one day workshops to extensive collaborations lasting three or more months.

Sweet Tree Arts / Sweetland School has had the great pleasure of working with Abi Nash. Abi is passionate, professional, and knows how to listen and respond to her students. Her versatility as a musician is inspiring and she is willing to keep learning alongside the students.

- Lindsay Pinchbeck, Sweet Tree Arts

Abi is incredibly knowledgeable about her craft. She has a wide array of experience not only with strings, but piano, voice and woodwinds. From an interpersonal standpoint she is a pleasure to work with, and I always feel comfortable in the environment she creates. I will absolutely continue working with her for the foreseeable future.
