Abi’s bio
Photo Credit: Jack SullivanAs a musician, Abigail is multi-faceted. Her talents include piano, violin, viola, and vocals. Her musical journey began as soon as she could talk, constantly singing and begging to play the family piano. She started piano lessons at 5, and music has been a part of daily life ever since.
In high school, Abigail added viola to her studies, and then voice, before deciding to pursue a degree in Music Education. While in college, she had numerous opportunities to lead; she was principal violist, assistant accompanist for Collegiate Chorale, and assistant conductor for Chamber Choir. Abigail was also active in the chamber music scene and a constant gig performer for area groups, choirs, musical theater productions, and premiere performances.
Since graduation, Abigail has pursued dual tracks of music -performance and education - while developing a long-standing commitment to creating immersive, inclusive experiences that bring people together and foster connection. She was a band and choral director for RSU #13 for five years, taught violin at local Montessori and independent schools, served as Music Director for local schools, was accepted as a Teaching Artist through the Maine Arts Commission, and taught extensively both privately and at Midcoast Music Academy (MCMA) for over 12 years.
Abigail holds an M.A. in Media Design and applies a design thinking approach to program development, curriculum design, and audience engagement. She continues to study viola, while performing with ensembles including Bagaduce Chorale, Bar Harbor’s Summer Music Festival, Berkshire Choral International, TeV (experimental Quebecois/Celtic, currently on hiatus), Clockworks Ensemble (improvisatory electro-acoustic), and the Midcoast Symphony Orchestra. She also develops her own original music projects and collaborates with local musicians on piano, violin/viola, and voice.
Her combined expertise in music, education, design, and community engagement enables Abigail to craft experiences—onstage, in the classroom, and in the community—that inspire participation, creativity, and meaningful connections.
